Quick answer

Yes — Simple Minds have officially announced the V Tour 2027, a full arena tour celebrating 50 years since the band formed in Glasgow in 1977. The run covers 37 announced dates from 13 February to 17 May 2027: eight shows across Australia and New Zealand, 20 across mainland Europe, and nine in the UK and Ireland, with Gary Numan as special guest on the UK and Australia/NZ legs. October 2026 check: all announced dates are official and on sale; no North or South American dates have been announced yet.

What's confirmed vs. what's still coming

✅ Confirmed for 2027

The V Tour 2027 is officially announced — a 50th-anniversary arena tour running February to May 2027.
8 Australia/NZ dates confirmed on simpleminds.com: Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch.
9 UK/Ireland dates announced September 2026: London, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow (2 nights), Dublin.
20 mainland Europe dates confirmed via Ticketmaster listings: Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands (2 nights in Amsterdam).
Gary Numan confirmed as special guest for the UK and Australia/NZ legs.
New studio album Sacrosanct released 29 January 2027, with first single 'Beginner Boys' out September 2026.

⚠️ Not yet announced

No US or South American dates have been announced — a North American leg is plausible given their 2025 North American run, but it remains speculation.
Support acts for the mainland Europe leg have not been officially confirmed.
No further UK/Ireland dates beyond the announced nine are known.

Why a 2027 tour makes sense

Simple Minds have spent the last few years as one of the hardest-touring legacy acts in rock. Their 2025 touring reached more than 1.5 million people, including a North American run that frontman Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill say reconnected them with the art-rock and new-wave charge of early material like Sons And Fascination — energy that fed directly into the new record. The band has sold more than 60 million records worldwide, scored five UK No.1 albums, and taken 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' past one billion Spotify streams.

The new album Sacrosanct is their first studio record since 2022's Direction Of The Heart, and its lead single 'Beginner Boys' draws its subject from Kerr watching his twin grandsons grow up. The album also turns its attention to the Kerr–Burchill friendship on 'Our Secrets Are The Same' — a bond that began on a Glasgow street when the pair were eight years old, and which now anchors a 50-year career.

There is no viral fake poster or fabricated schedule circulating for this tour — everything above comes from the band's official site, Ticketmaster announcements, and established ticket outlets. The dates listed are the real, officially announced shows.

Ticket and presale info

Tickets for the announced dates are already on general sale. For the Australia and New Zealand shows, general sale began on Friday 19 June 2026 at 9am local time (with a simpleminds.com subscriber presale from 18 June), and tickets are sold through the band's authorised partner Ticketek. UK and Ireland dates went on sale through Ticketmaster UK in September 2026 following the tour announcement. Some dates — such as the Wellington, NZ show — are already listed with low availability, so fans should buy from official sellers rather than resale sites.

The V Tour 2027 is fully official, and with Gary Numan on the bill and a new album in the set, these anniversary shows are likely to be the band's biggest in years. A North American leg remains the big open question — if one is added, we'll list it here. Fans of the 80s new-wave era should also track our Erasure 2027 tour dates and Depeche Mode 2027 tour dates pages, since both bands tour the same circuit and often add dates around the same windows.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The band officially announced the V Tour 2027, a full arena tour running from February to May 2027 across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the UK and Ireland, with electronic pioneer Gary Numan as special guest on the UK and Australia/New Zealand legs.

The V marks five decades: the tour celebrates 50 years since Simple Minds formed in Glasgow in 1977. It is timed with their new studio album Sacrosanct, released 29 January 2027, and draws on a catalogue spanning from the early art-rock records to Don't You (Forget About Me).

Gary Numan is confirmed as the very special guest for the Australia/New Zealand and UK dates. Support acts for the mainland Europe leg have not been officially announced.

Not yet. As of October 2026 the band has only announced Australia/NZ, European mainland, UK and Ireland dates. They toured North America in 2025, so a US leg is plausible but nothing has been confirmed.

For the Australia and New Zealand shows, subscribers to simpleminds.com received presale access starting 18 June, a day before general sale. For UK shows, tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster UK. Always buy from official sellers to avoid inflated resale prices.

Sacrosanct is released on 29 January 2027, the band's first studio album since 2022's Direction Of The Heart. The first single, 'Beginner Boys', was released in September 2026.
